Single release from Jin Akanishi. Limited edition A comes with a bonus DVD with music video of "Eternal" and its making-of plus cover photo shooting meking-of. Limited edition B comes with a 24-page special photo booklet. Features an alternate cover artwork.[1][2][3]
Chart performance
The single sold 161,000 copies on its first day, debuting at No. 1 on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart. By the end of the week, Oricon Weekly Singles Chart reported Eternal, selling 217,000 copies, marking the first time a solo artist’s first week sales exceeded 200,000 in 2 years (the last time was in 2009 when Yusuke’s “Himawari” sold 219,000 copies). [4]
Eternal was reported by Oricon first half rankings for 2011 to sell 241,630 and was later certified Platinum by RIAJ denoting over 250,000 shipments.[5]
